How to keep the 3 product category types in sync?

Here, Els Van Vossel explains the different types of categories in Odoo, but how to maintain these 3 structures in an efficient way? The product_category_defaults module doesn’t really sync categories as the name of the module implies but helps out in setting some defaults when new products are created. The module puts the PoS product category as the main one. You can link an accounting category and eCommerce category to the PoS category so that when it’s assigned to a product, the other two categories are set too.
